Our Story

We built The Witch’s Cupboard as a third place for seekers and skeptics alike: a cozy, curious little haven where you can slow down, sip something warm, handle beautiful tools, ask real questions, and feel seen exactly as you are. No rush. No pressure. No purchase required.

What began as a kitchen-table dream for Donna and Zak has become a growing community of readers, makers, teachers, gamers, crafters, and everyday magic-makers. We partner with local artisans - jewelers, blacksmiths, candle crafters, herbalists, woodworkers - to bring one-of-a-kind pieces to our shelves, and we’re constantly refining what we offer. We don’t compete with other shops; we compete with our yester-selves.

All paths are welcome here. We honor pagan, Wiccan, folk-magic and rootwork traditions, conjure and diaspora practices, animist paths, eclectic witchcraft, and beyond. We respect pronouns, identities, and lived experience. If The Witch’s Cupboard is your first step or your thousandth, there’s a place at our table.

Donna (Pronouns: She/Her)

I didn’t grow up in a particularly “magical” household - I found my way here by listening to the quiet, earthy call, free of dogma and full of wonder/guided by curiosity rather than dogma. I’m often the one geeking out about the metaphysical side of crystals, folk practices, and the poetry of ritual. If you leave with nothing else, I hope you leave with a sense of possibility.

Zak (Pronouns: He/Him)

I’m the one who asks, “But how does it work?” I love the science that hums beneath the sparkle - lattices, Mohs hardness, conductivity, how light bends through a cut. Pair that with Donna’s metaphysical lens and you get the whole picture: spirit and structure, myth and mineralogy. I’m usually building displays, testing tools, and chatting about durability, sourcing, and care.

The Fam

You may spot our helpful shop sprites (aka our kids) from time to time - restocking the shelves, guarding the “Ugly Rock” adoption bin, or demonstrating how to crack a geode. Please say hi; they take payment in high-fives and jokes. They are a constant reminder that magic is found in the everyday, chaotic beauty of life.
